Workshop 9

Mold Making Simplified
With Judith Oak Andraka

Thursday November 4, 9:00AM - 4:30PM

$107

Learn to make rubber molds for your creations - including flat pieces, 3-dimensional pieces, doorways, trim or anything else you would like to make in quantity. This popular workshop will include hands-on making of a one-part mold, a two-part mold, and casting resin into the mold to create piece.
Discussion and demonstration will include building various matrices for making molds and the types of molds to make what you wish to craft. Students may bring their own small pieces to use to create a mold. Finished molds will vary with the individual students. This class can be paired with Matrix Building for Molds (see Workshop 7) where the student will build architectural trims, doorways etc from which to make a mold- held the previous day. *NOT FOR THOSE ALLERGIC TO LATEX*

Student Supplies and Tools Needed: A general tool kit (X-acto knife, small tweezers, scissors, and ruler), thin rubber gloves, and a small object to mold. Some objects will be provided if the student has nothing specific in mind. If a student wishes to make a trim molding - such as doors, windows, etc- please contact the instructor (Judith Oak Andraka 570-998-9339. 1588 Lake Road, Trout Run, PA 17771) prior to the class. Instructor will provide all mold and casting materials and supplies to make the molds.
