Workshop 21

George III Cellaret and Knife Box
With Geoff Wonnacott

Thursday November 4, 9:00AM - 5:30PM through Friday November 5, 9:00AM - 4:30PM

$280

Two very fine examples of essential dining room furniture of the period. The cellaret giving storage to wine bottles often with ice to cool the contents and the knife box to store and display the silver ware.

From a prepared cutting list of timber, each student will construct and veneer both pieces. The cellaret legs will be tapered; the arched lid will be made and hinged. The knife box having a sloped hinged lid and shaped front. Both will be finished with a marquetry fan inlay and brass hardware.

A reasonable skill and ability would be an advantage.

Student Supplies and Tools Needed: All tools and equipment will be provided. Please feel free to bring your own small tool box.
